The challenge

This is a great cycle ride mainly following an old railway line linking the North and South Downs National Trails. The route is mostly flat and off road and therefore suitable for a wide range of cycling abilities.

Cycle Brighton can deliver the bikes to the start of the ride, provide route directions, and give breakdown support during the ride.

The ride starts at St Martha’s Hill, just outside Guildford.  You take in some spectacular views of the Surrey countryside before heading south to Cranleigh along the Wey and Arun Canal. The path carries on to Rudgwick and then onto the delightful Southwater Country Park. The ride continues to Henfield and then onto Bramber with its ancient ruined castle. The final stage runs along the River Adur to Shoreham and then along the coast to Brighton.
